**Gous Khan** — Founder & Owner. Gous Khan opened GK Batteries in Alnavar in 1994 and, for twenty years, made and sold hard-rubber (HR) batteries here. When the raw materials stopped being available in 2014, he moved to selling branded batteries from his retail shop. Alnavar trusted GK Batteries then, and it still does.

GK Batteries began in 1994 as a place that made batteries. Gous Khan built hard-rubber (HR) batteries in Alnavar and sold them to the town's drivers, farmers and families. For twenty years, from 1994 to 2014, a battery from GK Batteries meant a battery made and sold by the owner himself.

By 2014 the raw materials for hard-rubber batteries were no longer available, and making them was no longer possible. Instead of closing, Gous Khan turned the shop into a retail battery store. Amaron, Exide, SF, Yokohama and Dynex batteries are available at GK Batteries today, so customers can still buy a good battery from a shop they already knew.

The trust carried over. People kept coming back because of how the shop treated them: old batteries valued fairly, honest advice, and the owner's name behind the counter. **1994 to 2014 — Hard-Rubber Years:** Twenty Years of Hard-Rubber Batteries. For two decades the shop makes and sells hard-rubber batteries in Alnavar. The owner is the person customers deal with, and the name earns the town's trust.

**2014 — The Switch:** Raw Materials Run Out, Retail Begins. Raw materials for hard-rubber batteries are no longer available. Gous Khan switches to selling branded batteries from his retail shop: Amaron, Exide, SF, Yokohama and Dynex.
